"SINIGANG"

This short story ‘Sinigang’ illustrates what much of the Filipino household is going through. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who can relate to this story, broken family because of an affair and stuff. And as this is expressed in real life, moral lessons in this piece are also lessons that are genuinely needed and necessary in our lives.

Forgiveness When Liza heard the words she was looking forward to from her father, she eventually learned to live with him and to forgive him. They couldn’t go back to the life their family used to have; anyway it led them to be together again, regardless of the past.

Forgiving others is easier to tell rather than to do. What people have done to us will always leave a mark on our mind especially our hearts, but as we forgive we also forgive ourselves as were all human afterall.

Faithfulness

Do all men really cheat? According to Nikeerht Ariego, “Being loyal is being there because of your loved one. loyal people know how to flirt, but they’re always come back to you when they need you. On the other hand, being loyal is an Integrity. Even if nobody is watching we will always choose the right thing to do.

It’s a step higher than loyalty, because at the same time it’s trustworthy and just. As I would have said being loyal is easy, but being faithful is another story.” So if someone is loyal to his partner , whatever temptation he’s always going to do the right thing. It’s not enough that we know the right thing to do.

Acceptance Acceptance is not something that can be compelled to do. The tale of learning how to accept things often starts with not being able to accept them and then finding a way to do so. It’s so necessary because you may not embrace who you truly are, leading to way more issues in your life.

Love and Courage It’s quick to say, “I love my family,” but family love is more than these simple terms. Family love is a special kind of love that comes with unusual emotions, attitudes, obstacles and rewards. When you realize what it really is, you will learn how to create family relationships through true love and care. It just shows that even Liza swallowed her pride and took the courage to go through the toughest obstacles she encountered the love for her father will always stay and remain.

𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝e 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 21𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧

The short story “Sinigang” taught different things and shows me new perspectives and point of view to every situation I myself can encounter and also experienced.

First, As my family is also broken I already experienced the pain it cost me to go through this kind of situation, it may not be happy but it mold and made me into a different kind of person the way I am now. Second, is that all of us are just humans we all make mistakes and it’s for us to learn and grow, it may took a lot of courage to accept an apology but it will all be worth it in the end. Lastly, is that no matter what happens Love and Peace will and will always prevail.
